Arab, Turkish and fusion belly dance in three workshops
Sundays Sept.17, October 1 and 22 1:30-3:30 pm
(3 sessions for the price of 2 – see below)

Contemporary and traditional dance from the Middle East

* Develop skills with body-friendly warm-ups, movement technique and vocabulary
* Enhance your understanding of Middle Eastern music, dance and cultural context
* Develop confidence with improvisation and dance making
* Learn solo and group dances.

Multilevel sessions, best for those with some kind of dance experience. Each session stands alone, but the material & dances flow together.

Explore the diversity of Middle Eastern dance through sequences and choreography based in raqs sharq, shaabi, regional village and fokloric forms, and contemporary/fusion.

Where: Studio #2 at Vibrant Studios (VIBE) Nanaimo
Fees: Early Bird ALL 3 for the price of 2: $50 before Sept.17

Lynette Harper has a unique and inspiring style that goes beyond technique, to combine artistry with cultural understanding. She is a versatile and passionate dancer, with more than 30 years of experience in Middle Eastern dance performance and teaching. Her dance is shaped by her Lebanese heritage, travels in the Middle East, and work with master teachers and star performers.
